LeadCare Illinois provides eligible child care providers and schools with mitigation reimbursement support to tackle sources of lead in drinking water. Mitigation reimbursement is currently available to schools and licensed child care facilities with lead in their drinking water at 2.01ppb or above. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis as funds remain.
Those facilities with lead in water at 15 ppb or above (at one or more outlets), located in a lead action level exceedance community (within the past 5 years), and serving children under the age of six will be prioritized for reimbursement support.
