Training

LeadCare Illinois offers free lead safety trainings that educate child care providers about lead in water testing rules, the impact of lead exposure in children, how to sample their facility's drinking water for lead, and how to create a mitigation plan. Trainings are available through online webinars and conducted in both Spanish and English.

Testing

After completing registration, child care providers receive a free test kit to sample drinking and cooking water sources. The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency lab analyzes the samples, and results are shared with providers via email. If lead is present, LeadCare Illinois provides education to help child care providers minimize or reduce the source of lead.
